Our new regional network for the West Midlands launches in February with a timely webinar looking at the communications implications of the continuing challenges to community cohesion.
Andy Allsopp, Head of Profession Communications and Marketing at Essex County Council, will take us through a powerful case study of his council’s and partners’ experiences of a series of protests and counter-protests linked in part to the housing of asylum seekers.
This session will be the first of a series of events offering a valuable opportunity to connect with West Midlands’ colleagues, share learning, discuss emerging challenges and explore how we can strengthen public engagement and communications practice.
The webinar will run between 3 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 11 February 2026 and is FREE to LGcomms members.

The webinar will also give us an opportunity to look ahead at the key issues for 2026, so if you wish to suggest a topic please email our associate Paul Masterman at paul.masterman@blueyonder.co.uk
