Ukraine Independence Day statement

Today (24 August) marks the 31st Anniversary of Ukraine Independence Day and six months since the start of the war.

We continue to stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine. Our thoughts are with all affected by the terrible events we have seen unfolding since February.

Our members, from public sector organisations, are part of the networks helping Ukrainian refugees fleeing from the violence settle in the UK. We are proud to use our skills to support the humanitarian response in our communities and work in the hope of peace returning soon.

The sunflower is Ukraine’s national flower and a symbol of hope.
