LGcomms thanks PRCA for support as four-year relationship ends

LGcomms, the leading local authority and public service communications and marketing membership body, has thanked the PRCA for its support and development as the four-year relationship between the two draws to a close.

The PRCA took over the administration, general management and wider support for LGcomms in 2018, leading to a period of sustained growth in the organisation’s membership across local authorities and public services in England, Scotland and Wales.

The increase in membership and commercial partners has improved the body’s financial stability and the continued success of flagship activities such as the annual LGcomms Academy, the Future Leaders talent development programme and a vibrant programme of webinars and seminars, means the PRCA will sign off with LGcomms in excellent shape.

LGcomms will be continuing its highly valued relationship with the Local Government Association (LGA) for communications support and strategic advice, including social media, website management and digital promotion of the LGcomms events programme.

LGcomms Chair Andy Allsopp said:

“The PRCA has enabled our organisation to go from strength to strength over the past four years, in terms of our membership offer, financial health, and general levels of growth.

“Thanks to the platform the PRCA has provided, we have emerged from the pandemic able to address the new challenges ahead and with the confidence and capacity to do so.

“We are grateful in particular for the strategic steer of PRCA Director General and LGcomms Executive Director Francis Ingham, and the valuable support provided by our General Manager Vin Kaur, for contributing so much to our development. We wish them and the PRCA every success in the future.”
