Statement on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

We add our voices to the outpouring of sadness following the official announcement that Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II has died.

The Queen was an icon of public service for the best part of a century. She was placed in the international spotlight from a young age, and she lived through an era of great change while fulfilling her role as our country’s longest reigning monarch.

At this time, public sector communication colleagues around the country are part of the national response to this historic and solemn moment. Long developed plans, produced according to the official protocols, have been carefully put in place ready for this day. Across our sector, we are supporting the dignified commemorations and expressions of sympathy taking place in local communities now and in the days ahead.

We join with people around the world in noting with sadness the announcement from the Palace.
